This site is for people working within and with the '
Evaluating ways of capturing engagement processes' project to capture and publish their thoughts as the projeect progresses. The project itself has been made possible through
seed-funding for Evidencing Engaged Research by the
Public Engagement with Research Catalyst project.
The people working within and with the project are in 3 broad groups:
- researchers
- teachers
- students/pupils.
Aims and objectives of the 'Evaluating ways of capturing engagement processes' project
The process of co-research engagement undertaken by teachers, pupils and researchers needs understanding in more detail. We aim is to develop and evaluate a variety of engagement data collection tools (e.g. structured blog posts, vlogs, forms, twitter prompts, interviews) for their richness in collecting engagement changes and effects for teachers, students and researchers. Using an extension of an ongoing research project (
JuxtaLearn) into non-
STEM subjects (i.e. Arts, Humanities and English subjects) will increase the cost effectiveness and feasibility of this
project by re-using existing
JuxtaLearn resources and staff for performance and video-making activities. The spread of subjects and engagement data collection tools should allow the team to develop an understanding of the process of engagement, and variations across curriculum and schools.
